Registrar Department

The registry is the nerve center of the polytechnic.  The data needed by various departments and sections, such as Academics, Accommodation,  Boarding, Catering, Finance etc., are all centrally captured by the registry staff.

It’s manned by the Registrar and his two deputies, namely deputy in charge of admissions and deputy in charge of examinations.  During peak periods, college opening Admission and Examination dates, extra staff are sourced from other departments to ease the congestion.

The registry is charged with the admission of new students, registering/reporting of all continuing students and updating student records, when need be. Exams office manages all the examination written in the polytechnic, both internal and external exams. We are exams center for KNEC, KASNEB, Nursing council of Kenya, CBET, ICDL among others examination bodies.

The registry has fully integrated ICT in its operations. This is in order to improve the customer satisfaction and experience coupled with efficient and effective service delivery

The department is also in charge of marketing the polytechnic courses, products are services.  This we normally do through both print and electronic media, road shows.  Participating in Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, Research conferences, Career talks in Secondary schools, TVET sensitization programmes among others.

Currently, with the GOK capitation, our students population stands at 12400; and still going up.

With the rapid infrastructural development, strategic location, being in cosmopolitan area and national status, KNP is the polytechnic of choice in Kenya.
